Background

P embarked on a 12-week Ambassador Programme consisting of the Skills-Tu Life course, the Information, Advice, and Guidance course, and a 1-1 Mentoring Programme with her tutor. This holistic programme is aimed to enhance confidence, skills, and ability to support others in her community. P’s journey highlights the transformative power of structured personal development and her dedication to making a meaningful impact.

Programme Engagement and Development

Weeks 1-4: Building Confidence through Skills-Tu Life

At the start of the programme, P displayed determination but lacked confidence in her abilities. During the Skills-Tu Life course, she gained tools to reframe negative thought patterns, address ambivalence, and develop critical thinking skills. These new skills empowered P to challenge her self-doubt, take ownership of her decisions, and start envisioning a role where she could contribute meaningfully to her community.

Through active participation, P began to see herself not only as a learner but as someone capable of leading by example. Her confidence grew steadily as she practiced using these tools in real-life situations.

Weeks 5-8: Expanding Skills through Information, Advice, and Guidance

As P progressed into the Information, Advice, and Guidance course, she began honing her ability to provide structured support to others. She learned to identify citizen needs, signpost effectively, and communicate with empathy and clarity.

P also benefitted from 1-1 mentoring sessions, where she explored her aspirations and received tailored guidance on how to channel her strengths into meaningful action. With her growing confidence, P began to explore opportunities to work with local services and organizations.

Weeks 9-12: Transitioning to Leadership and Action

In the final weeks of the programme, P demonstrated a clear vision for her future. While she was offered placements within local services, P chose to pursue an independent initiative—Your Voice Denbighshire. With guidance and support from her tutor and the wider Intuitive Thinking Skills team, P set the foundation for her community project.

P’s project aimed to create a platform where citizens could discuss local issues and suggest improvements, with feedback shared directly with relevant services. She also planned weekly drop-in sessions to signpost citizens to local resources, using a comprehensive service directory that she developed independently.

Post-Programme Achievements

P officially launched Your Voice Denbighshire on November 28, 2024, both online and through a well-attended in-person event. The initiative quickly gained traction, with over 4,000 online followers within weeks of its launch. Supported by local organizations such as Adferiad, Salvation Army, Caniad, Brighter Futures, Men’s Shed, and Intuitive Thinking Skills, P secured funding to sustain the project and extend its reach.

Her drop-in sessions will offer citizens access to support and guidance tailored to their needs. P’s strong networking abilities have fostered lasting partnerships with local services, ensuring the sustainability of her initiative. She is now recruiting a team of volunteers to help expand Your Voice Denbighshire into other parts of the county, aiming to reach South Denbighshire in the near future.

Conclusion

P’s journey through the Ambassador Programme exemplifies the power of Intuitive Thinking Skills to foster personal and professional growth. From developing confidence and critical thinking in the Skills-Tu Life course to mastering structured guidance techniques and transitioning into community leadership, P has demonstrated remarkable progress.

Her initiative, Your Voice Denbighshire, is already starting to make a difference in the lives of citizens and has the potential to create long-term positive change. P’s story is a testament to her dedication, resilience, and ability to turn her learning into impactful action.

Future Aspirations

P looks forward to expanding her service, recruiting volunteers, and extending her reach beyond Rhyl. Her vision for a more connected and supported community serves as an inspiring example of how the Ambassador Programme can empower individuals to lead and make a difference.
