Young People’s Structured Mentoring
1:1 Structured Mentoring Support for Young People
Structured Mentoring is designed to address Young People’s needs while developing crucial life skills that support improvements in confidence, self-esteem, resilience, personal responsibility and attitudinal behavioural change. Focussing on reducing risk, increasing engagement with mainstream education and improving mental health and wellbeing.
Our Mentors are invested in helping you get what you want out of life. They all have lived experience and have “been there and got the T-Shirt”. Mentors understand how you feel because they have been in similar situations themselves and want to listen to you and help you address any problems or difficulties you may have. They respect your lived experience and won’t patronise you, and will make mentoring sessions interesting and fun.
Mentoring sessions take place using Zoom and are on a 1:1 basis. You will always receive a telephone call from your Mentor before your sessions start to introduce themselves and put you at ease about meeting them virtually. Mentors can also help with downloading the software or app for the device you are using to join the session.
Sessions will last for up to an hour and are very informal. You are free to discuss anything you want and won’t be encouraged to discuss anything you don’t want to talk about. The point of the mentoring sessions is to explore things you like and what you don’t like, and what aspects of your life you feel could be improved.
Mentoring Sessions will help you to:
- Build better relationships
- Make better decisions
- Boost your confidence
- Increase your motivation
