Think Pieces

Intuitive Thinking Skills are delighted to be part of two successful bids by Shropshire County Council to support rough sleepers and those at risk of rough sleeping.

It is being delivered by Shropshire Council in partnership with Intuitive Thinking Skills, Shropshire Recovery Partnership, the Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust (MPFT), Connexus, and The Shrewsbury Ark.

As a result of this funding, the Council will further enhance its support to rough sleepers, address any issues that prevent rough sleepers from moving into permanent accommodation, and find pathways to permanent accommodation while providing support to ensure that the accommodation is sustained.

Tailored assistance will be provided to the needs of each individual and will look to develop a support plan addressing health, mental health, substance abuse, family connections, as well as work to develop a pathway into accommodation.

Intuitive Thinking Skills will be recruiting a team leader and two community navigators, and will also provide an ambassador volunteer training service to build skilled volunteer peer networks to bring additional peer-led support and raise aspirations across the Borough.

“We know how important it is to focus on the root causes of rough sleeping in order to break the cycle. It is crucial that we support the most vulnerable people in our society and this money will allow us to do just that."

Simon Jones, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for adult Social Care and Public Health
